So, how to lose belly fat with sciatica?

The best way is to make some changes in the way you eat.

If you can’t do any type of exercise, the only way to reduce belly fat is by reducing the amount of calories that you eat per day.

Even if you don’t want to follow any strict dieting plan, there are ways to cut calories and get you started.

First tips is to

Eat Less Carbs and More Protein

The whole secret on why eating protein helps you lose weight is that you need to eat way less in order to feel satisfied.

According to a 2009 study, increasing protein in your diet boosts your body’s energy levels, which is good during weight loss.

  • Nuts
  • Peanuts
  • Legumes
  • Shellfish
  • Egg Whites l
  • Lean meats
  • Low-Fat Cottage Cheese
  • And Soy products are all high in protein.

It is however important that you don’t cut off carbs completely, since you need about 130 grams of carbs daily for your body to function properly.

Water Therapy

If you do want to do some kind of exercise, water therapy is really good for people with Sciatica or other back pain-related conditions.

Water therapy lets you move your body without all the stress on it.

You can make it as simple or as hard as you want it.

Try doing some easy jogging, lifting weights, or swimming in a pool.

There are lots of underwater treadmills available for people who want something more challenging.

Remember that some type of movement is always good when dealing with Sciatica.

This can maybe be your new thing?

Limit Amount of Salt You Eat

This might sound like something that shouldn’t help much, but it really does.

The sodium in salt causes your body to retain so-called water weight.

When you cut back on salt, your body loses this water weight.

However, these pounds are not equal to losing fat but can help you feel lighter and able to move easier.

Rest and Sleep

Getting enough sleep is important to everyone, and crucial if you want to lose weight.

However, it’s not always that easy if you suffer from sciatic nerve pain.

Many people suffering from sciatica find lying down to be a nightmare.

In general, sleeping on one’s side or back is preferable to sleeping on your stomach.

If you sleep on your side, a pillow between your knees and/or between your waist and the mattress may help reduce the nerve pain.

If you prefer to sleep on your back, placing a pillow under your knees may help relieve pain.
