How to Clean Your Car’s Headlights

Over time, your car’s headlights can become dirty, fogged, and yellow. They can also become a terrarium for bugs. Luckily, there are several ways to clean your car’s headlights. Here are some of them: Use WD-40, Baking soda, Vinegar, or Toothpaste.

WD-40

To clean your headlights, you can use a multi-use product like WD-40. Simply apply it to a clean cloth and wipe it across the headlight surface. You should use less pressure, as the lubricant is designed to get under built-up dirt.

Another effective solution for headlights is vinegar. A simple mixture of one part vinegar and one part water can be used to clean them. You can also try using liquid dish soap or laundry detergent. Lastly, you can use a premium wash mitt to clean your headlights.

WD-40 is a popular cleaning agent and is used in farm equipment. It also works well on glass and metal surfaces. Before using it to clean your headlights, however, make sure that the headlight surface is clean. Otherwise, you may end up causing more damage to your headlights.

Baking soda

You can clean your car’s headlights with baking soda and lemon juice. Both of these products are extremely useful when it comes to cleaning messes around the house, and they can even save the color of your headlight. Simply mix the two ingredients in a ratio of 2:1 to make a mild cleaner. The solution will clean your headlights and keep them fog-free.

Baking soda does not leave a streak and is a non-hazardous cleaning solution that you can use without gloves. The cleaning solution is also suitable for cleaning other items, such as toothbrushes, shoes, and other surfaces. To clean your headlights, you can simply apply the solution to the headlights, cleaning them in a circular motion and working on both sides. Baking soda is an effective way to maintain the clean appearance of your headlights, as it will prevent them from becoming dirty again.

Vinegar

If you have a dirty headlight that looks unattractive and is getting in your way of driving, consider using vinegar to clean it. It’s cheap and natural, and it will remove dirt and grime. Just make sure you use a vinegar that is approved for this purpose. Although it won’t remove oxidation, vinegar will help protect your headlights from rusting and corrosion.

You can also use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar to clean your headlights. Simply mix the two together in a 2:1 ratio. Rub the paste on your headlights and wipe away with a microfiber cloth.

Toothpaste

One way to remove fog from headlights is to use toothpaste. The paste should be applied on a microfiber cloth. Make sure the toothpaste is applied in a thin layer. Using a lint-free cloth can prevent the toothpaste from leaving any adhesive residue. Also, use toothpaste that contains baking soda because this has more scrubbing power.

The next step is to dry the area surrounding the headlight. After this, you can use dish soap to scrub the area around the light. Make sure to dry the area thoroughly. Alternatively, you can purchase a headlight restoration kit, which contains a polishing compound and other items. However, the headlight restoration kits are quite expensive and require you to pay for the ingredients.

Coca-cola

Coca-Cola headlight cleaner works well for removing dirt and stains from headlights. It is inexpensive and widely available. You can also use it to clean other parts of your vehicle, such as the dashboard and windows. The key to success is to follow certain steps and use a suitable cleaning solution.

First, you should dilute Coca-Cola with a small amount of water. Then, pour the solution into a spray bottle. This allows you to have better control over the amount of solution. Next, spray the mixture onto the headlights. Wait for about 8 to 10 minutes before wiping off with a microfiber cloth.

Coca-cola headlight cleaner works by cleaning headlights without harming the paint on your car. The beverage contains phosphoric acid, which is an acid that dissolves grime and rust. You can also clean your headlights by scrubbing with a baking soda and warm water paste.
